When we think of fast food we usually think of touch screen and presets - scanning is more usually associated with supermarkets and general retailing.
Commonsense EPOS Ltd are installing the TS700 - an EPOS system that is capable of both modes of operation - into a chain of fast food retailers.
Within the same transaction the system can handle both the fast registration of bar coded (packaged) items and non-bar coded items (such as coffee and soup) via scanning and touch screen input respectively.
Commonsense EPOS Ltd have married branch sales information from the TS700 with existing back office core systems (e.g. Sage) through a custom built interface, allowing a high degree of integration at a relatively low cost and have also created an automated reordering routine cutting manual intervention (and therefore error) down to a minimum.
The resulting system not only speeds up transaction times at the till point, optimises stock holdings and minimizes waste, it also produces sophisticated management information enabling better informed and faster decisions about the direction of the business.
